We're getting creative with our annual appeal this year — and that means your gift goes further than ever. We've lined up a team of generous friends of the Triangle Club who've committed to matching every dollar the community raises, up to $10,000, for a total matching goal of $20,000!

That means when you give now, you're not just making a simple donation — you're doubling your impact.

For 36 years, Triangle Club has been home base for LGBTQ+ recovery here in Washington, D.C. Every week, people walk through our doors in Dupont Circle looking for hope, safety, and a new way of life. Keeping that door open isn't free — between rent and other expenses, it costs more than $400 per day to operate the clubhouse. Your gift helps us cover that, day in and day out, keeping our doors open for the newcomer.

Here's how the match works: for every $2,000 our community raises together, our match donors add another $2,000 — dollar for dollar, up to $10,000 in total matching funds.

No matter how much you contribute, your gift counts twice towards our goal of $20,000.

Scan the QR code on this page to donate using a credit/debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Venmo, or even a secure ACH transfer directly from your bank account.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for being part of this community, and for everything you continue to make possible.

In service and tremendous gratitude,

Your 2026 Triangle Club Volunteer Board of Directors

Our clubhouse is governed and operated by volunteers and dues-paying members of our nonprofit, Triangle Club, Inc.

"The Gay Clubhouse Project": A Brief History of the Triangle Club

Washington DC’s LGBTQ+ AA meetings date back to 1971, when the first gay AA meeting was held in a private home. Over the next decade, a number of new groups formed in various locations throughout the city. By the mid 1980s, there were about 30 weekly LGBTQ+ AA and Al-Anon meetings in and around the Washington Metro area. However, it was becoming increasingly difficult to secure safe and affordable meeting spaces. This gave rise to the “Gay Clubhouse Project,” whose mission was to form a gay meeting place dedicated to 12 Step meetings. It also became clear that the LGBTQ+ recovery community needed a place to expand their social lives in an alcohol and drug-free environment. The "Gay Clubhouse Project" was renamed Triangle Club and incorporated in 1989 as a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) tax exempt status. Our doors opened on January 1, 1990.
