Our Story: Why The Hiding Place Exists

The Hiding Place was born from a deeply personal journey and a simple belief: no one should have to face abuse alone.

After experiencing domestic violence firsthand and discovering how difficult it was to find support, safety, and resources, our founders recognized a critical gap in services for survivors in our community. What began as a desire to help just one person has grown into a mission of creating safe spaces where survivors and their children can find hope, healing, and practical support as they rebuild their lives.

Today, The Hiding Place serves survivors of domestic violence through advocacy, safety planning, emergency assistance, support groups, resource navigation, and community education. We walk alongside survivors during some of the most difficult moments of their lives, helping them move from crisis to stability and from surviving to thriving.

Since opening our doors, we have served hundreds of women and children, providing not only tangible resources but also something equally important: a reminder that they are not alone, their experiences matter, and healing is possible.

At The Hiding Place, we believe every survivor deserves to be heard, believed, and supported. Through the generosity of our community, we continue working toward a future where every survivor has access to safety, dignity, and the opportunity to build a life free from abuse.
