For generations, Black men and boys have been asked to carry weight in silence.

The weight of expectation. The weight of survival. The weight of a wellness world that was never really built for them.

Holistic+Kin exists to change that.

We are a community-rooted organization dedicated to the holistic health and healing of Black men and boys through accessible care, culturally grounded programming, and the radical belief that healing is not a privilege. It is a right.

Why we exist

Our founder, Rai Gethers, spent years at the intersection of design, wellness advocacy, and community care, watching Black men and boys be consistently underserved in the spaces that were supposed to support them. Overrepresented in stress, burnout, and emotional isolation. Underrepresented in care, affirmation, and rest.

What started as a calling became a commitment: to build something that actually meets Black men and boys where they are.

The plus sign in our name is intentional. It stands for addition, expansion, and the inseparable connection between wellness and kinship. Because healing doesn't happen in isolation. It happens in community.

What we do

Our programs are built around three core commitments:

Alma Gethers Therapy Fund | We eliminate financial and cultural barriers to mental health care by connecting Black men and boys with free sessions through a trusted network of licensed providers. No burden of cost.

Sankofa Boys Club Fellowship | A safe, culturally grounded space where Black boys build confidence, emotional awareness, and brotherhood. Rooted in Sankofa, learning from the past to move forward with purpose.

Kin Community Initiatives | From mental health literacy and peer support circles to financial wellness and holistic health education, we bring healing into the broader community and equip families with tools that last.

Our north star

We don't offer quick fixes. We build infrastructure for healing, spaces where Black men and boys can show up fully, be affirmed, and grow without shame or limitation.
