🌟What would you wish for if you had one wish? 🌟
For Samonne, that wish was to go to a museum and have a star named after her so it would live forever. Samonne is a lover of shooting stars and making wishes, and believes they are good luck. Samonne has a room filled with fairy lights and loves anything that sparkles. ✨
I read this short description from a list of Make-A-Wish candidates and without any further details I knew this was the mum I was meant to create. Some of my favorite memories are laying outside with my son watching meteor showers and waiting to see that single bright light streak across the sky. Even now, I can’t step outside on a dark night without looking up and hoping to see a shooting star. There’s something magical about that short burst of fleeting light, and I wanted this mum to capture that same feeling of wonder.
As I learned more about Samonne, the inspiration behind the design became more meaningful. Samonne is 16 years old and was born weighing just 1 pound, 8 ounces. She lives with a muscle disorder and uses a wheelchair, yet she is determined to be as independent as she possibly can be. She is homeschooled, enjoys hanging outdoors with her adoptive sister, loves the colors blue and purple, and anything that sparkles. Samonne has a cat and likes Dr.Pepper.
Samonne's story is not defined by the obstacles she faces each day, but by her incredible strength, determination, and her ability to find joy and light despite them. This mum is my version of the star Samoone wished to name. My hope is that every ribbon, every sparkle, and every detail of this mum reminds Samonne to keep dreaming, keep wishing and keep believing because even on the darkest nights there is light. 💜💙🌠
💕Jessica Sanders organzied this incredible event and I'm forever grateful to be apart of it. Being part of a community of mum makers that come together and support each other for something so much bigger than us was most definitely a humbling experience. The ideas being shared, the support and encouragement for each other, and the offers to help when needed was remarkable to witness. Not to mention the TALENT in this group! It's all AMAZING!💕
