"A Wish to Travel the World came to her in 1000+ Postcards!"
One Wish. One Mum. One Community.
When I accepted the Make-A-Wish Mum Challenge, I knew I wasn't just creating another homecoming mum. I was being entrusted with telling the story of a child whose greatest wish deserved to be seen.
As I read through the wish profiles, one little girl's story stayed with me. Her dream was simple yet extraordinary—to travel the world. But because of the severity of her illness, she wasn't physically able to make that journey.
Instead of letting that dream fade, Make-A-Wish found another way. They invited people from around the world to send her postcards from the places she longed to visit. Today, she has received more than 1,000 postcards—each one carrying hope, kindness, and the reminder that even strangers can help make a dream come true!
When I accepted her story, I realized what I had agreed to do seemed nearly impossible. There were only two weeks left to design and build a competition-worthy mum that could truly honor her incredible journey. Rather than saying it couldn't be done, I found a way.
I reached out to four fellow professional mum makers from the Greater San Antonio area. Although we each own our own businesses and usually work independently, we came together as friends and fellow artists to show our support for Make-A-Wish North Texas and our friends in the Dallas area.
Together, we combined our unique talents to create one extraordinary mum that tells the story of a little girl whose dream inspired all of us. Every ribbon, every flower, every postcard, every destination, and every detail was chosen with love. This mum isn't just a piece of art—it's a reminder that hope can travel farther than any airplane ever could.

This project started with one little girl's dream, grew through the collaboration of five independent mum makers from the Greater San Antonio area, and now continues with every person who chooses to give. Together, we're proving that when a community comes together with creativity, compassion, and purpose, we build more than a mum—we help make wishes come true. 💙
