Who we are: HBWWC is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit providing services to the unhoused population of Wooster and Wayne County.

What we are: The Day Center and Severe Weather Shelter provides basic needs and access to local social service agencies to the unhoused population with a housing first approach.

Why we exist: As of January 2024 there were 114 individuals experiencing homelessness within our community. During the ‘23-’24 Severe Weather Shelter season, 104 individuals were provided a warm place to sleep and 298 meals were provided to individuals NOT utilizing the shelter.

Our Services:

The Day Center will be open 7 days a week, year round from 10:00am until 4:00pm. Guests will have the opportunity to shower, do laundry, eat lunch, charge phones, use laptops, and meet with local social service agencies to assist in finding employment, housing, medical treatment, counseling/rehab services, etc.

The Severe Weather Shelter will be open 7 days a week beginning November 1st through April 30th. Shelter intakes will take place from 6:00pm until 9:30pm and guests will have a safe shelter until 8:00am the following day. While at the shelter, guests will have the opportunity to shower, do laundry, eat dinner, and get a good nights rest.
