We Need Your Support To Purchase our New Home!

Youth Ministry: Our new church home will allow all of our youngest members, including toddlers and teenagers to experience God in an age-appropriate way. Youth are the heartbeat of our ministry! Our current location only allows us to engage up to 20 youth for our Sunday Youth Services. By sub-leasing a neighboring event space we have been able to support up to 50 youth on Sunday mornings. In addition to a larger space, our youth are in need of an area that will allow them to fully engage without sound interruption of our main service. We are expecting to serve 100 kids in the coming months and our new facility will allow us to do that with ease.

Food Pantry & Community Outreach: Our new church home will allow us to re-open our weekly food pantry. Our need to expand our main sanctuary required us to eliminate our Food Pantry. However, we still give thousands of dollars in donation and outward facing community service to our local neighbors through our annual "Gas on God" giveaway, our "Turkeys on God" Giveaway, and on-going housing support, and bi-weekly door-to-door prayer outreach.

Worship Ministry: Our new church home will provide a designated area for our worship dancers and give more room for our worship team to lead corporate worship. In our current space our youth room doubles as a preparation and changing area for our worship dancers. Additionally, our Sunday service space doesn't allow our worship teams to utilize the full range of their creativity due to the tight quarters.

Pastoral & Administrative: Our new location will provide counseling space and administrative space. Our Senior Pastor does not have his own dedicated office for counseling individuals and families. At this time we have one dedicated space for all administrative and pastoral need. Proper storage space (communion, baptism robes, children's books, donations) will also be a priority.

We believe it's time to begin engaging in the education of our young people. Imagine a school where students feel welcomed, loved, and the presence of God. A school where creativity is present and parents are no longer terrified about what their children might be exposed to. Imagine a place where mind, body, and soul are cultivating Godly leaders. Imagine. youth. learning. A joyful space where learning takes place and leadership is developed. The young people of this generation are waiting for the Next Academy of Decatur so that they can be the champions that forever change the generations after them.

With young boys of their own preparing to enter middle school, Pastor Dwight and Elisa Buckner know first hand the importance of a learning community that will be rigorous academically, culturally relevant and full of joy, while also encouraging the spiritual beings of youth.

A Little Background....

Launched 11 years ago inside Pastor Dwight's Barbershop, Generation of Hope Church serves as a Christ-centered ministry impacting a generation of those lost, broken and hopeless; bringing restoration and fulfillment to their purpose in Christ Jesus. Initially a bible study, the ministry has grown into a church that serves as a safe haven for youth to discover their purpose in God, and for families to propel into the best version of themselves.

In year nine of ministry, determined to make use of all that God had already provided, the church tore down walls to expand the sanctuary of their current location. Now, God is calling us to move as "we have been faithful over a few things."
