On September 14, 2024, tragedy struck Barangay 105 in Tondo, Manila, as a devastating fire tore through the community, displacing around 2,000 families and affecting over 9,000 people. Many of those impacted are part of our Project PEARLS family, and they now find themselves with nothing.

This isn't the first time our PEARLS community has faced such heartbreaking circumstances. Just months ago, on March 21, 2024, a fire in the Aroma compound displaced 661 families, affecting over 2,400 people. With your support and the help of others, we came together to help those families rebuild their homes and their lives.

But once again, we are compelled to knock on your heart. While donor fatigue is real, consider the unimaginable exhaustion of those who have lost everything—not once, but twice. If you’re feeling weary of giving, we urge you to reflect on this: what could be more heartbreaking than turning away now, when the need is greatest?

Together with our dedicated social workers, we visited various relocation sites to meet with the fire victims, listen to their needs, and coordinate with local government agencies and other nonprofit organizations to find ways to collaborate effectively.

Project PEARLS is committed to preparing and serving at least 1,000 meals a day for those affected by the fire, while also providing the most urgent essentials such as clothing, hygiene products, and more. Our goal is to bring immediate relief and support to help these families in their time of need. But we can't do it alone, this is only possible with your support.
