Sarah is a new believer, who recently purchased her first home after several years of homelessness and unstable living conditions. She is a gifted craftswoman and has worked tirelessly to make the home livable, but it still needs significant plumbing and structural work. Our team's goal is to come alongside her and help get her house up to code so she can move in and qualify for other resources.

Her journey to find a home led her also to find her hope in Jesus Christ.

The Goal: The funding needed to make Sarah's home livable and safe is $65,000. Our team has already begun the work of leveling her floor, stabilizing and raising her ceiling, replacing rotten structural areas, installing insulation, replacing her bathroom vanity and toilet, redoing all of the plumbing so she can have water, and providing a new furnace and HVAC system so she can have heat. We also plan to lay down new flooring in the kitchen and bathroom, install new shower fixtures, replace her windows, and upgrade the electrical wiring.

Once we get her house up to code, Sarah will be able to move in and qualify for other available resources.

What is Kingdom Overflow Ministries?

Kingdom Overflow Ministries (KOM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that exists to display the Gospel of the Kingdom and enable people to walk in the fullness of Christ. It was launched by Matt and Jordan Roten in 2020. Our team is made up of a group of believers from diverse backgrounds and denominations.

What is the mission of KOM?

Our mission is to meet physical and spiritual needs in our community, share the hope of the Gospel, and equip all believers to walk in the fullness of what Jesus died to give them. We do this through various community projects, outreach events, worship nights, and conferences. The construction arm of our ministry, Kingdom Overflow Properties, is dedicated to working with low-income families to make their homes safer, whether fixing a leaking roof or addressing other structural and weatherization concerns.

How is the ministry run?

Kingdom Overflow Ministries is currently volunteer-led. With no paid staff, the majority of our fundraising can go directly toward our efforts to show the tangible love of Jesus Christ through housing projects and outreach efforts. We do pay our Kingdom Overflow Properties (KOP) construction team, but any profits that come through our KOP division after operation and labor costs go right back into funding our ministry efforts.

What is the ministry's long-term vision?

Our team is currently working to acquire and renovate an existing campus designed for long-term housing and training. Once it’s ready, we will invite individuals to temporarily live on the property, where we will teach them skilled trades while also walking them through Christian, Kingdom-centered curriculums. Our discipleship programs aim to build self-worth and identity, and residents will have opportunities to practice the trades they are learning by serving low-income families in the area. Upon completing our program, we want residents to leave our ministry equipped with trade knowledge and skills as well as an awareness of their inherent value in the Kingdom of God. Those seeking meaningful employment will have an opportunity to join our paid workforce and continue building affordable housing in their own communities.
