The Mental Health landscape in the United States is a lawless. wild wild west.
There is NO laws for mental health.

Leo was months away from his dream—a double major in Math and Science at UCF, Class of 2026. Then, the nightmare struck. In late August 2024,
a sudden psychotic episode triggered a Baker Act intervention and a shattering diagnosis: Schizophrenia, severe Bipolar disorder, and psychosis.

At just 24, Leo was swallowed by the shadows. He is now drifting through homeless shelter systems from Orlando to D.C, Miami to Knoxville to Jacksonvile
He is living in his world of paranoia, helucination and distorted truths.
Because he is an adult and in denial, current laws leave his family powerless. He needs treatment, and the system is indifferent.

There are no laws to help any father to protect his son in the United States. In Florida, the Baker Act dates back to 1971. It is obsolete. No state in the U.S. is truly equipped to protect young adults in the grip of cognitive impairment. This is a systemic collapse.

Our strategy is clear and urgent:
-Short-Term: Demand state-regulated emergency guardianship and clinical stabilization (3+ weeks) for those with an ADL Index under 80%.
-Mid-range: Drive legislative change in Florida to reflect the modern reality of mental health crises.
Long-Term: We must push for unified federal guidelines to create a national safety net for our endangered youth.

It is a moral failure to abandon the cognitively impaired to the streets. We must fight this with unyielding resolve, protecting our youth from the compounding grips of social media and AI.
