Why Ukrainians need clean water?

Clean water is essential for the well-being of any human being. Human body is 60% made of water, and an average person needs 1 gallon (3.7 liters) of water per day to replenish this level. For civilians, potable water is a basic necessity for drinking, cooking and other parts of their lives. And when it comes to the Ukrainian defenders, the need for accessible drinking water in the field is even more crucial. These heroes often spend months in active fighting, often without rotation, increasing their exertion and the resulting need for water. Click “Donate for Water!” to help.

Why clean water is hard to access in Ukraine?

The non-stop Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian water and filtering stations, as well as the pollution of the natural water resources due to the ongoing shelling results in a very limited access to clean water by both defenders and civilians. The Russian-made ecological catastrophe that was caused by Russian military blowing up the Kakhovka Dam made the clean drinking water supplies scarce for civilian population in Southern Ukraine. As a result, the reservoir had lost 75 percent of its water, leaving more than 200,000 people in Nikopol and surrounding areas without access to drinking water. What will be purchased with my donation?

With your help we’ll be able to buy water filters (both personal for defenders and stationary for civilians), water tablets, camelbacks, making sure the Ukrainians can have access to clean water when needed. Keep in mind that as Ukrainian defenders are freeing the occupied territories in Ukraine, they are the first ones to offer any help to civilians, so the more supplies we can purchase and deliver- the more help they would be able to offer. For reference with $100 donation we can buy 10 personal water filters, a $200 donation would get 10 camelback pouches in backpacks, and a $300 donation would get 10 hundred-packets of water purification tablets that would last one person for about a month. Results so far:

To date, we provided Ukrainians with 350 water related devices, including ~200 water filter systems and ~150 camelbacks. We also implemented a number of humanitarian projects, helping vulnerable civilians like villagers and kids. However, the need for access to clean water is much greater than that, especially during the hot summer month. How will supplies get to Ukraine?

We know how to get water filters and camelbacks to Ukrainian recepients as efficiently as possible, by avoiding many possible logistical pitfalls. The water filters are bought in Germany and delivered to our team members in Poland. The camelbacks inserts are purchased in Poland, where they are combined by our team members with high-quality army-grade camelback backpacks delivered from the USA by travelers to Europe. Then, the packages are driven from Poland to our distribution point near Rivne in western Ukraine. From western Ukraine, some PPE is distributed to soldiers that are about to be deployed from the training centers to the battlefields, while other is delivered to the front lines in the hottest war zones by minivans carrying other humanitarian aid, or by Nova Poshta postal service that still operates in the near-front-line towns.
