In Person

Add to Calendar 2024-06-25 18:30:29 America/New_York Judaism and Communal Responsibility One of the core values of Judaism is Tikkun Olam, repairing the world. We are all obligated to play our part in this mission. This series, led by Tribe 12 and NextGen will explore the myriad of ways that you can contribute to a more just world. We will examine Jewish texts related to communal responsibility and tzedakah (charitable giving), learn about local, national and global Jewish organizations and the work they do to heal the world, all while building a supportive and warm community of peers. Each session will include dinner and the class with end with a giving circle where we will put what we have learned into practice. Cost to register $36, suggested giving circle donation (to be collected July 23rd) $18-180 based on capacity. Class dates June 25, July 9, 12 (Shabbat Dinner), 16, 23 and 30th (Tuesdays) ________________________________ Tribe 12 connects people in their 20s/30s to Jewish life and community in Philadelphia today so they will choose to stay connected tomorrow. We welcome people who identify as Jewish, whose partner is Jewish, or who are exploring Judaism. Tribe 12 seeks to include all individuals regardless of gender or identity expression, religious history and practice, and financial circumstances. We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including disabled individuals, to engage fully. If you require any accommodations please see our page on accommodations. Feel free to contact us with any questions at [email protected]. Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History<br> 101 S Independence Mall E, Philadelphia, PA 19106, USA
