There are very few people in Gaza who know how to do pottery. This initiative aims to change that by introducing younger generations to the craft. This project will not only provide entertainment and relief for children in displacement camps; we hope to encourage people to take up the craft of pottery more seriously. According to Jaffar Atallah, "if we are killed, that would be the end of this heritage in Gaza" - a grim reality and risk due to the fake ceasefire.

We have agreed with the Atallah family that half of the donations will go towards rebuilding their pottery facilities, and half will go towards direct relief to displaced families.

We are especially grateful to the pottery community around the world for their unbelievable support. They have enabled the Atallah family to purchase a pug mill. Their next, most immediate need is to get the right electricity or a generator for the pug mill's operation as it is not readily available in their area. After that, they will continue rebuilding more facilities to replace what they lost to bombings in Gaza City.
