Hi! My name is Vivienne, and this summer I’ve been accepted to attend the Lutheran Summer Music Academy & Festival at Valparaiso University in Indiana!

I’m really excited about this opportunity because it gives me the chance to totally focus on music—without the usual distractions of everyday life. I’ll get to learn from amazing teachers, meet other students who love music like I do, and grow as both a musician and a person.

I’ve been so lucky to have incredible support from my family, friends, and music teachers who’ve encouraged me every step of the way. I’ve heard from people who’ve attended LSM that it’s truly a life-changing experience—full of inspiration, personal growth, and friendships that can last a lifetime. I can’t wait to be part of that!

I’ll be traveling to camp through Chicago with my dad, which I’m also really looking forward to—it’ll be a special part of the adventure. Once I’m there, I’ll be surrounded by passionate musicians, challenged in new ways, and learning so much. At the end of camp, we’ll perform in a final concert to share everything we’ve worked on, which I’m super excited about!

To help my family cover the cost, I’m raising money to support my trip. LSM offers a matching grant—if I raise $1,000, they’ll contribute up to $500, which is an amazing opportunity.

Lutheran Summer Music Academy & Festival (LSM) is the nation’s premier faith-based music academy for high school students. In addition to advanced musical instruction and numerous performance opportunities, LSM students form an intentional community, living together for four weeks on a Lutheran college campus. Since 1981, this unique and immersive program has guided the lives of young musicians who credit LSM as the starting place for their future careers and vocations.

LSM was founded to celebrate and extend the rich musical heritage of the Lutheran church. Our founders believed that by providing high-quality training and performance opportunities to young musicians they could cultivate a lifelong love of classical and sacred music, thus preserving these art forms for generations to come.
