Campaign Story: Louisville Feud – A Fundraiser with a Twist

At I Would Rather Be Reading, we believe that all kids deserve access to high-quality literacy support, trauma-responsive care, and the kind of enrichment that sparks lifelong learning. This summer, we’re rallying our community around a brand-new, one-of-a-kind fundraiser that combines laughter, local pride, and a whole lot of heart.

Introducing: Louisville Feud
It’s Family Feud… but with a local twist! All the questions are sourced from real people across every pocket of Louisville, and 32 teams will go head-to-head in a live, interactive game show hosted at Noble Funk Brewery on July 22.

After stepping away from high-cost, high-stress gala fundraisers, we knew we needed a creative way to stay connected with our supporters—and Louisville Feud was born. It's fun, low-cost, and rooted in everything we love: community, laughter, and showing up for kids.

Why It Matters

Due to recent federal funding cuts, programs that support out-of-school time enrichment are disappearing—and fast. But we’re not backing down.

With your help, we’re aiming to raise $24,000, which will provide 20 children with:

Free, trauma-responsive literacy tutoring
Daily after-school programming
Access to high-interest enrichment activities like cooking, drama, agriculture, music, visual arts, and more

Every dollar you raise or donate goes directly to keeping these essential supports in place for the kids who need them most.
