Story

Join BOMA/Chicago to support men, women, and children impacted by Russian War in Ukraine. Many of our members who manage our properties, provide security and janitorial services, and play a vital role in the commercial real estate industry are connected to Ukraine and neighboring countries.

With these members and their families in mind, BOMA/Chicago has partnered with the Kyiv Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International to raise funds to support Ukrainians.

Now, after five long months of the war, civilians in Ukraine are still in need of humanitarian aid. The process of receiving and resettling refugees fleeing the country will be a long-term endeavor.  Your support of this initiative is just as important today as it was in February!

Can you make a financial donation to support our efforts? Your generous donation will help fund:

1. the purchase and distribution of humanitarian aid and medical supplies for Ukraine.

2. St. Nicholas Cathedral School's refugee support in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood in Chicago.

We will collect donations through August 31, 2022. Please donate today.

About the Kyiv Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International:

The Kyiv Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International (CSCI), an initiative of World Business Chicago, is working to support Ukraine and Ukrainians displaced during the war.

Kyiv and Chicago have been Sister Cities since 1991 and have developed a longstanding sister-city relationship based on a shared vision of promoting arts, culture, business, and education.

Over the years, the Kyiv Committee of CSCI has played host to high-level delegation visits; organized numerous cultural programs, educational exchanges, and philanthropic projects; and worked with our counterparts in Kyiv to help strengthen the connection between these two unique cities.

The Kyiv Committee has created a Support Ukraine Fund. Proceeds from the fund will be distributed to trustworthy vetted organizations providing direct humanitarian, refugee and medical aid in Ukraine.

Highlights of distributed funds include:

o Donated to the Free Spirit organization, who works with the Ukrainian Medical Mission to purchase medical supplies

o Organized multiple fundraisers in partnership with the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art, a benefit concert in Chicago with members of the Lyric Opera Orchestra and Stage Artists to benefit the St. Nicholas Cathedral School and the Ukrainian Medical Association of North America (UMANA). The total amount of funds raised from this benefit concert was $48,116.50.

o Donated $5,000 to UNICEF UKRAINE
