Our students have engineered something elegant. Since January they have spent many long hours designing, refining, building, and programming a highly effective robot to enter into this year's FIRST Robotics Competition! Since then, we've placed it in local competitions and, oh man, it is GOOD! As such, we are faced with the amazing (though daunting) reality that we need to have plans for a road trip for the entire team - - to go the FIRST World Championship in Houston, Texas! With very little time to react, we need to be able to transport robot, and students halfway across the country. We need to pay for food, rooms, entry fees, trucks for equipment, and shipping for our robot "Helios" .

At the FIRST World Championship, we will have the opportunity to meet with teams and students from around the world as they convene in Texas April 19th - 22nd. Students will also have a fantastic opportunity to network with companies and organizations that could have a huge impact on their future. Not to mention just celebrating the hard work and determination that has gotten us this far. It really is an experience that we could not offer any other way.

Every little bit that we can raise can help us defray the cost of this trip and make it easier for our students and mentors to travel! As a modestly sized community team, we often lack the built-in support structures that can come with larger school-based teams. There is no quick morning PA announcement that reaches hundreds of families, and friends. We truly rely on every little donation that we can get to have these opportunities for our students.
