Immunocompromised Association provides education where needed and safer social support for immunocompromised individuals, reducing inherent health risks in the community.

We are dedicated to improving the lives of patients who are immunocompromised due to disease or treatment including those with primary or secondary immunodeficiencies, autoimmune disorders, transplant recipients, and anyone with a health condition who would benefit from our mission. We are committed to reducing inherent health risks for immunocompromised individuals to have more fulfilling lives.

To support immunocompromised individuals and their caregivers or care partners, we host completely free virtual events to allow individuals to safely connect with each other without the health risks of in-person gatherings. These include annual events, monthly hobby-based groups, informational webinars, and peer support groups.

We also raise awareness by working with healthcare providers and speaking at community events to educate immunocompromised individuals, caregivers, and the general population about what it means to be immunocompromised and how to make informed decisions to reduce health risks for immunocompromised individuals.

Our first awareness resource is the Immunocompromised Door Hanger. Our door hangers were inspired by patient and family stories showing a need for signage to non-verbally communicate immunocompromised status without sharing personal health information. They can be used at home, in medical centers, and out in the community to communicate immunocompromised status to family, friends, healthcare providers, coworkers, and other visitors to immunocompromised individuals’ rooms and homes.

Immunocompromised individuals frequently face preventable health risks and isolation in their communities due to a weakened immune system and lack of social awareness. Our mission is to reduce preventable spread of illness in communities and end isolation of immunocompromised individuals.
