In Loving Memory of Bella

Bella was more than just a lesson horse at Lost Creek Ranch—she was a presence, a personality, and a true cornerstone of our program for over 15 years.

Known affectionately as our “spicy red mare,” Bella had opinions, confidence, and a whole lot of heart. She wasn’t just pretty and powerful—she was honest, talented, and dependable. As a solid show horse, she taught riders what it meant to ride with purpose, to be precise, and to earn every good round. She challenged riders to be better, and in return, she gave them her best.

Over the years, Bella carried riders of every age—first-timers finding their balance, young riders discovering their competitive spark, and more experienced students learning how to truly ride a horse with personality and presence. She built confidence, grit, and skill in countless humans, and she did it in her own unmistakable way.

Bella leaves behind more than an empty stall. She leaves behind a legacy of lessons learned, ribbons earned, nerves conquered, and memories that will live on in our barn for years to come. We are so grateful for the 15+ years we had with her, and for everything she gave to this community.

In her final chapter, we did everything we could to keep Bella comfortable and cared for, and her veterinary care came with significant expenses. If you feel moved to honor her memory, we welcome donations to help offset her vet costs. Any additional funds raised will go toward camp scholarships, helping more kids experience the confidence, growth, and joy that horses like Bella made possible.
