Eli’s Story

Eli’s journey with Ewing Sarcoma began in the spring of 2023, when he was 19 years old. What started as mild back pain was chalked up to a muscle strain. Instead, after months of searching for answers, he was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma in September 2023—a rare, fast-growing, and aggressive bone cancer that primarily affects children and young adults.

Like so many families, we placed our faith in the standard treatment protocol. Eli endured a year and a half of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgeries, hoping they would save his life. But the treatments that were designed to cure him proved to be too harsh on his body, and ultimately, they weren’t enough to stop his cancer.

One of the most difficult parts of his fight was a grueling 20-hour surgery to remove the tumor. To save his life, surgeons removed three ribs and three partial vertebrae, forever changing his body. Yet through every setback, every hospital stay, and every painful recovery, Eli continued to fight with incredible courage.

On June 16, 2025, after nearly two years of battling this devastating disease, Eli lost his fight with Ewing sarcoma. He was only 21 years old.

But cancer is only a small part of Eli’s story.

Eli lived every day with a contagious spirit that made everyone smile and feel good. His friends and family were everything to him. Sports were one of Eli’s greatest passions, especially baseball. He was a fierce competitor, natural leader, and selfless teammate. Whether he was on the baseball field, shooting hoops, or playing football, Eli loved the competition—but he loved the people beside him even more.

What made Eli truly special wasn’t just what he loved—it was how he loved people. He was fiercely loyal, stood up for the underdog, and never hesitated to help someone who needed him. He lived with fearless adventure, never worried about getting dirty or jumping into something new. Even during the hardest days of his cancer battle, he never lost his quick wit or incredible sense of humor. He had an unmatched ability to make people laugh and bring light into even the darkest moments.

Eli touched countless lives in his 21 years, and his impact continues to be felt every day.

Today, we honor him by fighting for the future he deserved.

Ewing sarcoma remains one of the most aggressive childhood cancers, yet treatment options have changed very little in decades. Families are still relying on the same toxic therapies that often leave survivors with lifelong complications—and for too many children and young adults, like Eli, they simply aren’t enough.

That’s why we support the Little Warrior Foundation. Their mission is to fund groundbreaking research and clinical trials focused on finding safer, more effective treatments—and ultimately, a cure—for Ewing sarcoma and other childhood cancers.
