The Corpwell Foundation is a Vermont-based nonprofit dedicated to preserving historic places, stewarding land responsibly, and strengthening community well-being—today and for generations to come. Rooted in the belief that place matters, Corpwell exists to protect the physical and cultural spaces that anchor rural communities, support connection across generations, and ensure that history, land, and people are not lost to neglect or disinvestment.

Our Why

Rural communities face mounting challenges: aging populations, deteriorating historic structures, limited access to gathering spaces, and increasing pressure on land and local identity. When historic buildings disappear or land is fragmented, communities lose more than structures—they lose memory, continuity, and opportunity.

Corpwell Foundation was created to meet this moment with a long-term, stewardship-driven approach that blends historic preservation, land conservation, and community-centered programming.
