About the design, from the artist, Martinu Schneegass

"Years ago I heard that the coat of a shaman was not just a status symbol and a representation of his function as a shaman etc. but was seen as a membrane between two universes or two levels of consciousness. This triggered my idea of creating “energy shirts” that are more than just forms of covering up, looking attractive or protection against weather, status symbol etc, but a representation of the consciousness and energy of the person who wears it. In the past I have experienced that someone would change noticeably depending on which of my shirt designs he/she would put on. So, I want to increase peoples sense of vitality and playfulness with the shirts. How exactly that happens, is a function of the interaction of each individual’s personality and the energy of the shirt. It is like a bit of transformative magic.

When looking for a visual language to express vitality and energy, I came across fractals. By working with programs that generate graphic versions of fractals I capture some of those images and manipulate them further in Photoshop to create designs that flatters the body, emphasizes the face etc.

For InterPride I created 2 shirts that include the colors of the rainbow:

“Fire and Water” (IP-1) is more vibrant, louder, ecstatic

“Opal” (IP-2) is more subdued, subtle and intricate. "
