WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!

As our organization continues to grow, not only do we depend on grants and service revenue to support our Annual Event and year-round programs, but we also depend on the generous support of individual donors like you. Each dollar you donate to Indigenous Peoples' Day Philly, Inc., goes directly to pay for general operations and overhead expenses.

Thus, here is what we want to share with you and why we are very excited for 2024:

We are anticipating to have an even bigger and beautiful Indigenous Peoples' Day in 2024 at Shackamaxon, Philadelphia. (If you missed the one we organized on Monday, October 9th, you can watch the event here!)
We are going to continue to strengthen our relationships with the Lenape (Delaware) people. In 2023, we started the Lenape Program Working Group and for the first time we had a speaker from each of the five Lenape (Delaware) federal tribes and many more attended this year.
Our Media Justice Team is also growing. For 2024 and 2025 we are getting ready to make TV-ready programming from our archive and future events. How exciting!
Our EDU Team is preparing for a new series of Coalition Building Workshops! Can't wait!
Our Action Community Team is pushing to make Indigenous Peoples’ Day a statewide commemoration and campaign to mandate Tribal history in Pennsylvania. If you are interested in volunteering, send us an email here!
