As we at the Institute for Social Ecology (ISE) reflect on 2025, we believe the current moment is a decisive point in world history. The ecological crisis is reaching irreversible tipping points as the Trump regime veers the US toward an increasingly fascist future. Meanwhile wealth and power has never been more consolidated at the top.

It is not hyperbole to say that the actions (or lack thereof) that our social movements take over the coming years and decades will be epoch defining.

Social ecology provides our current movements a practical political strategy to address these ongoing crises. It also advances a long-term reconstructive vision to bring society harmony with nature.

The ISE is offering educational programs and skill trainings for organizers and thinkers to realize this vision. To broaden our reach and impact we need your help! In order to continue our work in 2026, we need to raise at least $20,000 by the end of the year. Your donation will support our work making the social ecology future a reality.

Despite the magnitude of the crises we currently face, the ISE recognizes that transforming society starts at the grassroots, from community to community. That’s why we launched a new program called the Neighbor Union Organizing Cohort which trains community organizers to put the ideas of social ecology into practice in their own neighborhoods. As we continue to offer classes, mentorship and other educational experiences, your support will help us give our students the tools to make revolutionary change!
