There is a quiet wisdom in the saying that it takes a village. We see it every day at Big Beautiful Life: no one is meant to carry a heavy load alone.

When a child lives with complex medical needs, a family's world can shrink to the size of a hospital room. Bills keep coming. Meals get skipped. The places that used to feel like home, the trail, the beach, the backyard, get harder to reach. And when a child dies, the weight changes shape but does not go away.

Big Beautiful Life was founded in memory of Addi, and today we walk alongside kids like Alexa (pictured), one of the newest families referred to BBL by our community. We are an all-volunteer Vermont nonprofit, and we walk alongside families through pediatric complex medical care and bereavement. We don't take over, we support. We show up, steady the path, and let families lead.

Your year-end gift keeps that village standing. It goes where families need it most:

Housing & stability: rent, power and groceries during long hospital stays.
Adventure Chairs: all-terrain wheelchairs placed at Vermont trails and parks, ready to borrow.
Warin's Light: teddy bear urns for families saying goodbye.
Crystals for DJ: keepsakes that keep a child's memory close.
Community: referrals to other nonprofits and supports, connection with families who've walked this path, and 1:1 support from parents who know it firsthand.

Unrestricted gifts also build BBL's reserve toward a permanent home base and our first dedicated staff member, so this village is still here for the next family, and the one after that.

It Takes a Village

No Vermont family should carry a medical crisis alone. This season, carry it with them.
