Hi, I’m Matthew Brewer — adaptive athlete and U.S. Para Alpine Ski Racer.

Many people know my story of limb loss and addiction recovery. But at its heart, my journey is about rebuilding, resilience, and refusing to let circumstance define what’s possible.

After losing both of my legs above the knee, I had to relearn how to connect with my body, my community, and my purpose. Through vulnerability, I found strength. Through community, I found belonging. And through adaptive sports, I discovered a fire to push my limits again.

That fire led me to para alpine ski racing.

Today, I proudly represent Team USA on the Para Alpine World Cup circuit, proving that adversity and authenticity don’t diminish strength — they build it.

Why I’m Fundraising

This season is pivotal. I’m on the road to the 2026 Paralympic Winter Games in Cortina, Italy. Competing at this level requires:

Extensive international travel
World-class coaching
Highly specialized adaptive equipment

Unlike many elite athletes, much of this cost falls directly on me and my family.
