Give Izzy Macaroni a Life Without Pain!

Meet Izzy Macaroni aka Roni, a sweet approximately 3 1/2-year-old French Bulldog who has already endured far more than any dog should.

Roni recently came to us from a hoarding situation here in Connecticut, where she had been severely neglected. When she arrived, her skin was in terrible condition, and her ears were even worse. Years of untreated problems had taken a tremendous toll on her. She had been living with chronic, painful ear disease for so long that discomfort had become a part of her everyday life. We knew taking her on would be costly, but how could we turn our backs on her when she needed us most?!

It is heartbreaking to think about how long Roni suffered simply because no one cared enough to get her help - UNTIL NOW.

Despite everything she has been through, Roni has never stopped being incredibly loving. She absolutely adores people and just wants to be near them. She is affectionate, gentle, and happiest when she has someone beside her. She is also amazing with other animals and has shown us what a wonderful, loving dog she truly is underneath all of the neglect.

Unfortunately, the damage from years of untreated ear disease cannot simply be fixed with medication. Roni now requires a Total Ear Canal Ablation (TECA) surgery. This procedure involves removing the diseased ear canal and closing the opening so that the source of her chronic pain and infection can finally be eliminated. The cost for TECA surgery? $4,900-5,600.

Roni will be deaf in that ear after her surgery, but she will gain something far more important: the chance to live without the constant pain she has known for so much of her life.

She deserves that chance.

Her other ear is also affected and we are treating it, but for now, it does not require TECA surgery. The cost of Roni's surgery and the medical care surrounding it will be significant, and as a rescue, these medical expenses can be overwhelming. We are asking our rescue community, friends, supporters, and animal lovers to help us give Roni the care she desperately needs.
