At African Link Initiative (ALI), we believe that when young people understand who they are, where they come from, and what they are capable of they begin to transform their lives and the world around them.

Our mission: African Link Initiative (A.L.I.) transforms how youth of African descent see and experience their world by first transforming how they see and experience themselves (past, present & future), and the continent of Africa. Our core program has three parts and culminates in a service-learning birthright trip to Africa.

ALI is an evidence-based identity development program designed to expand how youth see themselves and their possibilities by deepening their connection to history, culture, and global citizenship.

Our Program Journey

Where do I come from?
Scholars explore their ancestry, history, and cultural roots—building a strong foundation of identity and pride.
Where am I now?
Through leadership development, public speaking, and critical thinking, students strengthen their voice and confidence.
Where can I grow from here?
Participants reimagine their future, challenge limiting beliefs, and develop the mindset and skills to thrive.

This journey culminates in a service-learning Birthright Trip to Africa, where scholars engage directly with culture, community, and history, transforming knowledge into lived experience.
