The John A. Garrett Scholarship Fund invests in the students and operators who keep clean water flowing across rural Alabama.

Each year the Fund awards scholarships for college study and for Alabama water and wastewater operator certification (Grades I–IV). Awards are paid to schools and certification programs—not as cash to individuals—so every gift goes straight toward training the next generation of the water workforce.

The Fund was established in 1997 by the Alabama Rural Water Association and is named for John A. Garrett, whose career helped build rural water service in Alabama. Today it continues through the generosity of donors and through conference fundraisers each March: the annual John A. Garrett Memorial Golf Tournament and Toss for a Cause, the Fund's cornhole tournament and social. Details and registration live at https://arwascholarship.fund/golf.

A gift of $750 can fund a full scholarship. Monthly gifts of any size build a steady stream that supports water families year after year. You can also give in honor or in memory of someone who shaped this work.
