James Malley

March 10, 1932 — November 19, 2024

Age 92, of West Mifflin, died Nov. 19, 2024. Originally from Penn Hills, PA., he was the son of the late Micheal and Catherine Malley; devoted husband of Rita (Dimmerling) Malley; loving father of Jim (Dora) Malley of Glasgow, Scotland, Colleen (Dan) Gill of Indiana, PA., Beth (Bob) Hook of Wexford, PA., Kevin (Jackie) Malley of Peters Township, and Amy Malley of Upper St. Clair; grandfather of Dan, Mandy and Micheal Gill, Gillian Hook, Christian and Kamyrn Lach, Austin Malley; great grandfather of Violet and August Gill; and brother of the late George, John and Robert Malley.

After serving in the US Army during the Korean War, Jim started his working life as an electrician at US Steel Corporation Homestead Works and later at Fisher Body in West Mifflin. He then worked at Westinghouse Electric Corporation as a facilities manager until his retirement at 62.

His retirement years were very active and filled with home improvement projects on the family home and those of his children, travelling with Rita and friends, and his great passion, golf, where he managed five hole-in-ones on local courses and some pretty good scores at the Old Course, Royal Dornoch and Royal Troon in Scotland.

He was very active on the Holy Angels Church Committee as the project manager of numerous Church and Church property improvements. He was also a dedicated eucharistic minister distributing communion to community members not well enough to attend Church.

On Wed., Dec. 4, family and friends will be received at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, 3511 Main Street, Munhall 15120, 412-461-6394, from 3-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thurs. Dec. 5 (10:30 am) at Holy Angels R.C. Church, 408 Baldwin Road, Hays. Burial will follow.
