Healthcare is a basic human right. But for too many Jamaicans across the island, getting to a doctor means hours of travel, missed work, and barriers that shouldn't exist.

Led by Miramar Commissioner Maxwell B. Chambers in partnership with Not Forgotten Corporation (a 501c3 nonprofit), we're launching a fully-equipped mobile medical bus that will travel directly to underserved communities across Jamaica—delivering doctors, nurses, and essential healthcare services right where people live.

Why This Matters

The Healthcare Access Crisis: Across Jamaica, families face long distances to reach medical care. Transportation costs, missed workdays, and lack of infrastructure create impossible barriers. Chronic conditions go untreated. Preventable diseases become life-threatening. Healthcare access shouldn't depend on where you live.

Hurricane Melissa's Impact: The storm revealed and worsened existing healthcare gaps. Roads were damaged. Clinics were destroyed in the hardest-hit areas. While the vision for this mobile clinic existed before the hurricane, Melissa made one thing impossible to ignore: Jamaica needs a long-term, mobile healthcare solution.

With deep family roots in Jamaica, Commissioner Chambers has witnessed firsthand the healthcare access challenges facing rural and underserved Jamaican communities. His commitment to this cause reflects both his Jamaican heritage and his dedication to expanding healthcare equity beyond borders.

Not Forgotten Corp is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Tax ID: 87-3655134) with six years of experience serving underserved communities.
