Chicago Ratna Shri Sangha warmly invites you to join Venerable Drupon Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche for a very special Jangchok Puja and 1,000 Lamp Offering.

A Special Offering of 1,000 Lamps

The offering of 1,000 lamps is considered a deeply auspicious and meritorious practice in the Buddhist tradition. Light symbolizes wisdom, clarity, awakening, and the dispelling of ignorance and obstacles.

By making lamp offerings with sincere intention, we create merit—the beneficial karmic potential generated through virtuous actions such as generosity, prayer, compassion, and making offerings. This merit may then be dedicated for the welfare of others, for favorable conditions in this life, for those who are ill or facing difficulties, and for those who have passed away.

The collective offering of 1,000 lights is especially beautiful and powerful, bringing together the prayers and aspirations of the community and dedicating them for the benefit and awakening of all beings.

Jangchok Puja

Jangchok is a profound Buddhist purification and dedication practice performed for the benefit of both the living and those who have passed away. Through prayer, ritual, offerings, and dedication of merit, we create auspicious conditions and make heartfelt aspirations for purification, healing, peace, and liberation.
