Jazz Central was re-founded in 2019 when a handful of Cascade Chorale members learned that Jim Knox used to direct a college jazz choir. With sufficient begging, he agreed to restart it. Jazz Central made it's public debut at the Holiday Magic concert in 2019. Here we are, 6 years later, singing our favorite type of music to a growing fan base. Jazz Central also helps link the broader Bend jazz community by highlighting local jazz musicians as soloists and band members.

Jazz Central is funded in part by the Cascade Chorale Association, a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization committed to making choral and jazz music accessible to everyone in the Central Oregon community. With generous donations from our community, the Cascade Chorale Association provides financial support for concert planning and execution, our accompanist and other musicians, programs, and advertising. COCC provides invaluable support in terms of a rehearsal space and our amazing director, James Knox.
