The Jackson Copeland Foundation is raising $12,500 to fulfill the remainder of our $25,000 annual commitment seed-funding for pioneering Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) research led by Dr. Courtney Jones at The Center for Advanced Leukemia Therapies and Research in Cincinnati, OH. This research focuses on attacking the cellular energy sources that allow aggressive leukemia cells to survive and resist standard treatment.

Cutting Off the Cancer's Power Supply Conventional therapies like standard chemotherapy often fail to eradicate leukemia stem cells, leading to disease relapse. Dr. Courtney Jones’ lab investigates how leukemia stem cells rely on cellular energy production—specifically through oxidative phosphorylation and adenosine triphosphate (ATP) generation—to stay alive. By discovering how to disrupt this specific energy pathway, researchers aim to target and eliminate resistant leukemia stem cells directly.
