While she’s happy to choose sides in the CoMo debate between Shakespeares and Pizza Tree, she won’t pick between cultural events like True/False and Roots n Blues — they all make Columbia the best city in MO.

From Jen:  Hi, all! Thanks for joining me in this adventure to support Ragtag Film Society. I have not fundraised for any organization outside of Born Just Right for almost three years. But Ragtag and True/False are such important parts of my life and my family’s life. I want to not only make sure it survives this pandemic, I want to see it thrive. Why? Well, I’ve lived in Columbia for 18 years.  Ragtag Cinema is a touch point my family has shared with pride for years. But it became especially important to me after I joined as a Couch Club member with my teenage son, Cameron.  We committed to seeing at least one film together from January 2017 through December 2019. There were times when we watched more than one film together. But our Ragtag visits are special. We could nerd out about a film together and it made his sister DEEPLY jealous.

Cameron is now a two-time Camp True/False camper. He made close friends, enjoyed True/False in a really special way and he had the chance to talk to filmmakers before  working to launch his own filmmaking career. 

Also, True/False is a super special time in our community each year. It is one of two major events (Roots n Blues is the other one) outside of homecoming that bring our friends into town to soak in the character of Columbia. So many of my friends volunteer for True/False - I can feel their pride all weekend.
