For decades, Jerry E. Lewis inspired thousands of students as a passionate music educator, performer, and mentor. Now, we have the chance to continue his work by funding scholarships for high school seniors pursuing music degrees.

Our Fundraising Goal:

We are raising $15,000 to fund three $1,000 scholarships this year and build a reserve to help sustain future scholarships. This ensures that Jerry’s legacy continues for years to come, supporting young musicians beyond this year’s recipients.

Jerry E. Lewis dedicated his life to music education, leaving a lasting impact on thousands of students. As the Chairman of Fine Arts at Joliet Junior College, he championed the growth of music programs, led efforts to achieve NASM accreditation, and founded both the JJC Community Band and Jazz Band. His passion for performance took him across the country, and his leadership shaped the future of music education in Illinois.

But Jerry’s path to music wasn’t easy. His parents worked hard to send him to Indiana University, believing in his talent and future. Today, many young musicians face the same financial obstacles. This scholarship honors both Jerry’s legacy and the sacrifices families make to help their children achieve their dreams. Your donation ensures that money is never the reason a gifted student misses out on a music education.
