The Jerusalem Academy of the Arts is the first multidisciplinary art studio and sound space in Little Palestine—created by Palestinian youth and community members to nurture creativity, preserve culture, and make space for healing through art.

Since July 2025, the Academy has become a living cultural home for Palestinians and allies alike. Together with our community, we have:

Painted four community murals reclaiming public space through collective storytelling
Hosted the first puppet show and theatre performance in Little Palestine
Become the home of an all-girls dabka troupe, cultivating confidence, discipline, and joy
Founded Street Dabka, a grassroots movement that now travels and performs nationally
Maintained an open studio model, offering free access to art-making for youth and community members
Provided piano, oud, and vocal lessons, expanding access to music education rooted in cultural tradition

At the Academy, art demonstrates being a tool for remembrance, resistance, emotional processing, and connection across generations.
