JJoy Foundation is excited to support the Volunteer Building Cambodia Community Centre (VBCCC), which offers programs designed to empower communities in Siem Reap. VBCCC’s school compliments the local Khmer curriculum by offering free English and computer literacy classes, vocational training in sewing, agriculture, and sustainable farming practices, and health education initiatives focused on hygiene.

Our Current Campaign: Give a Child the Chance to Learn, Grow & Dream

Every child deserves a chance to go to school, feel safe, and believe in a brighter future. But in remote Cambodian villages, thousands of children miss out on education because their families can’t afford uniforms, supplies, or transportation. The Volunteer Building Cambodia Community Centre (VBCCC) aims to change that!

In 2025, VBCCC provided free education to nearly 200 students. As we move into the 2026 academic year, our enrollment has jumped to over 300 children. This 50% increase shows how much families in the community trust VBCCC and value the education we provide. While we are overjoyed to see so many young faces eager to learn, this growth brings new challenges.

Your contribution toward this campaign will give 200 children life changing opportunities by covering VBCCC’s annual operating costs:

School materials (books, whiteboards, workbooks, stationery)
Local teacher salaries (fair pay for passionate educators)
Student essentials (uniforms, backpacks, notebooks, pens)
Electricity, clean water, and basic infrastructure
Internet and computer classes for digital learning
Hygiene supplies and learning kits for students
Regular maintenance and emergency repairs of the classrooms and library

VBCCC's vision is to improve literacy and employment skills of Cambodians in order to help families increase income levels and break the poverty cycle. VBCCC aspires to be a model for high-quality teaching and educational opportunities and offers a variety of programs in order to achieve this vision:

English Language Program: In Cambodia, there is a high demand for people with the ability to speak English fluently but, unfortunately, the majority of the children who are living in rural communitiies are not taught English. By providing English Language Classes, VBCCC offers the next generation not only useful communication skills but also the opportunity to secure good jobs and access a wider array of opportunities.

Computer Skills Program: Computer literacy is an essential skill for students to be successful in today's world. This is a challenge, as many children in primary state schools in Cambodia do not have access to technology. The goal of VBCCC's Computer Skills Program is to equip students with comprehensive computer literacy, providing them with a fundamental understanding of computer operations and effective typing skills.

Sewing Program: VBCCC's Sewing Program aspires to empower individuals by equipping them with practical skills which not only enhance the lives of individual participants but also uplift their entire communities. Students in this comprehensive one-year sewing program do not only learn sewing techniques, they also acquire a versatile skill set that opens doors to employment opportunities including financial literacy, goal setting, and entrepeneurship. Upon completion of the program, VBCCC provides ongoing support to help graduates establish their own businesses or secure employment.

Library Program: VBCCC believes that the more we read the more we learn. However, for many Cambodians, especially those in remote areas, access to libraries and books remains limited. VBCCC promotes reading habits by providing students with full access to a library containing books and other sources of information, encouraging students to read, leading group discussions and vocabulary games, and holding regular story time sessions.

Agriculture Program: Agriculture is one of the most important sectors of the Cambodian economy, however most Cambodians focus only on rice cultivation. VBCCC is committed to enhancing students' knowledge and proficiency in crop cultivation. By using available space at the Community Center, students learn the basics of agriculture and are encouraged to establish and maintain personal food gardens in order to promote self-sufficiency, create a sense of community, and contribute to a greener environment.

Hygiene Program: Good personal hygiene is essential for a healthy lifestyle and safe social interactions. Unfortunately, most children in the rural areas of Cambodia have poor hygiene practices due to limited education and resource availability. VBCCC aims to improve awareness and promote better hygiene for students by providing basic education on the benefits of personal hygiene.
