Student Send-Off & Alumni Cook-Out Celebration

The Greater Washington DC Chapter of the Jackson State University National Alumni Association is proud to host our Student Send-Off Celebration — a special celebration honoring students from the DMV area who have chosen to continue their educational journey at Jackson State University — in conjunction with our alumni cook-out.

As these future & returning Tigers prepare to leave home and head to Thee I Love , we want to ensure they know they are already part of a larger family. This event will provide an opportunity for incoming students and their families to connect with local alumni, current students, and fellow freshmen before arriving on campus.

Guests will enjoy an afternoon of fellowship, food, and Tiger pride, featuring hamburgers, hot dogs, games, and valuable information to help students successfully transition to college life. Alumni will be able to share their experiences, answer questions, and offer words of encouragement as our newest Tigers prepare for their first semester at Thee I Love.

The event also serves as an opportunity to provide students with essential resources that will help them start the academic year with confidence.
