Who is Miss Bella?

Bella is an amazing dog who has traveled all the way from Butler, Pennsylvania to come here to her forever home in Colorado. She was known as the "sweetheart of the shelter" before leaving and has already captured everyone's heart who has worked with her. Bella plans to live an exceptional life with nationally recognized special-needs pet caretaker, Kiki McGough. Kiki plans to integrate Bella into her emotional support work with children and adults with special needs.

Bella is special in so many wonderful ways and also has some unique special needs physically. With special needs come special expenses. Her ongoing physical therapy, vet visits, necessary medical products, etc are expected to cost as much as $500 per month.

K9 Kate Dog Training has had the good fortune of working with Kiki and her dogs in the past, and we have been invited to help with Bella's obedience training in order to pass the test to become a working therapy dog. Bella is very intelligent and learns quickly. Sadly she has not always had positive interactions with her caretakers in her former life and we believe she possibly has never been trained at all, not even to consistently respond to her name. This is where we can help her shine! She already has such a wonderful disposition and personality, traits that can't be trained into therapy dogs, so she is well on her way. Obedience training is easy with the right tools. Establishing clear communication and building a positive relationship built on trust, love and respect will take more time and dedication. This little girl is already well on her way to living out her best life as an all-star therapy dog living and working here in the Denver metro area.

To help Bella and Kiki on their journey, K9 Kate Dog Training is sponsoring a portion of Bella's dog training costs, which will be a total one-time cost of $900. This fundraiser is to raise the remainder of the funds necessary to help support Bella's mission and journey to becoming a volunteer therapy dog.

We strongly believe in Miss Bella's and Kiki's mission! Our support goes well beyond simple dog obedience training. We will be sharing her story, and anytime Bella or Kiki need training advice, we will be there to support them throughout Bella's lifetime.
