Established in response to the March 2026 Kona Low storms, Kākoʻo Mai is Hawaiian Council's ongoing disaster relief and recovery initiative, providing immediate assistance and long-term support to individuals, families, and communities impacted by disasters across Hawaiʻi.

Funding helps address evolving community needs by supporting housing stability, financial assistance, disaster recovery services, and other critical resources for those affected.

Today, Kākoʻo Mai is focused on assisting communities impacted by Hurricane Lala and upcoming severe weather, while continuing to support individuals and families recovering from the 2026 Kona Low storms. As future disasters and emergencies arise, the fund will continue to evolve, ensuring Hawaiian Council can respond quickly and effectively wherever help is needed.
