Building Affordable Homeownership in Cowlitz County

At Cowlitz County Habitat for Humanity, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to have a safe, stable and affordable place to call home.

The need for affordable housing continues to grow throughout Cowlitz County, and we are working to be part of the solution. That means not only building homes, but also looking for land and opportunities to create affordable homeownership throughout all of Cowlitz County.

One of our largest efforts is our Church Street Project in Kelso, where our goal is to create 16 permanently affordable homes. While the homes will be located in Kelso, the opportunity to apply will be available to qualifying residents from throughout Cowlitz County. Future Habitat homeowners partner with us, invest sweat equity, complete homebuyer education, and purchase their home with an affordable mortgage.

And Church Street is just one part of the bigger picture. We want to build throughout Cowlitz County. We are actively looking for land, community partnerships, volunteers, donors, sponsors and businesses that want to help us create more affordable homeownership opportunities.

That is why events like Kalama Halloween Community Bingo matter.

When you purchase a ticket, sponsor a game, donate a prize, or simply join us for the evening, you are helping raise the funds that allow us to continue this work—from finding land and preparing future building sites to constructing homes and supporting future homeowners.

Come play Bingo with us and help build a stronger Cowlitz County—one home, one family and one community at a time. 🏠💚
