For 10 YEARS, Good Call has put access to counsel in the hands of people in the first, most critical hours after an arrest. Good Call is often the only thing standing between an arrest and a wrongful, life-altering charge, and the hotline is at risk of going dark before December 31.

Demand has never been higher. Total call volume is up 25% this year compared to this time last year. Calls involving an active arrest in progress, the moments that matter most, are up by 49%. Good Call is also fielding a growing number of immigration-related calls, a related but separate need beyond the hotline's original scope.

Without additional funds, a proven, life-changing service goes dark at the moment more New Yorkers need it than ever. Here is what that means in practice. No more free legal counsel at the moment of arrest for the New Yorkers who rely on it most. Calls that used to connect to a lawyer in 32 seconds go unanswered. Simply put, if the hotline goes dark, New Yorkers have no free access to legal counsel at the moment of arrest.

We are raising funds to close that gap and keep the hotline running while we work toward a long-term, sustainable funding solution, including a conversation already underway with New York City. This is not a request to fund Good Call forever. It is a request to keep a proven, life-changing service alive through the end of the year, when demand is highest.

Every gift at any level keeps a lawyer reachable when it matters most.

Give today. Keep the line open.
