Northern Colorado Wildlife Center is facing unprecedented demand for wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, education, and coexistence services as rapid growth and environmental pressures continue to impact wildlife across Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming.

Today, our team responds to more than 10,000 emergency calls each year and is on track to admit more than 2,600 injured, orphaned, and displaced wild animals in 2026 alone — the highest demand in our organization’s history.

As development expands and human-wildlife conflicts increase, the need for licensed wildlife rescue and rehabilitation has never been greater. Yet despite growing demand, our current facility and resources have not kept pace. Every year, we are forced to turn away more animals simply because we no longer have the space or capacity to help them.
