We need your help.

We’re raising funds to ensure all children have the support they need to get to school every day. Join our Keeping Kids Connected Campaign to Support Student Attendance, and help us raise $3,000 for students in need!

Why it matters.

Did you know that school attendance is a big predictor of future success? Yet students are missing so many school days they are far behind in their learning. Regularly missing school will impact a student for the rest of their life, affecting their reading and math skills, achievement in middle school, and likelihood of graduating from high school.

But school is much more than academics—it's a place where children grow, develop, and discover who they are and the difference they can make in the world. Students who miss school face isolation, hindering their development and lowering their overall well-being.

What we’re doing to solve it.

At the Center for Supportive Communities, we are committed to helping students exceed their potential. Our SupportEd program addresses the root causes of school absence and provides the individualized, comprehensive support students need to stay in school.

Last year, we supported 70 students and their families. We paired each student with a caring adult mentor who met with them weekly, addressing their needs through evidence-based interventions. Our mentors advocated for students, strengthened families, and built meaningful connections between students and their schools.

Our impact is real.

SupportEd doesn’t just reduce absences—it transforms lives. After just three weeks of participation, we see a 50% decrease in student absences, allowing us to successfully divert families from the juvenile justice system. We’ve recently received over 200 referrals and need your help to ensure every student gets the support they need to stay in school!

By giving just $5, a child will receive necessities like a hygiene kit or alarm clock. Donations of $25 or more go to gas money for transportation to school and activities. Donations of $100 or more cover academic tutoring and educational advocacy, and a $1,000 donation covers an entire semester of one-on-one mentorship and behavioral health support!
