CAMPAIGN

We believe the freedom, challenge, and sheer joy of bike travel should be accessible to all young people regardless of financial need. After a year of epic growth, including a new 150-mile summer bike tour along the coast between San Francisco and Santa Cruz, we are setting our sights on another packed year ahead. Our goal in 2023 is to offer our programs FREE to participants while ensuring they have the clothing, gear, training, and emotional support they need to succeed.

We need your help to make this possible! By July 2023, we aim to raise $50,000 and welcome 20 monthly sustainers to our Sustainers Wheel. Please consider joining our journey to "Keep Pedaling!"

Ate 562 energy bars, 83 tamales, 38 foraged blackberries, 20 cups of buffalo ice cream
Spotted 20 goats, 14 chickens, 11 hawks, 8 sea anemones, 6 owls, 2 sea stars, 1 whale
Baked 2 pies - while on tour
Zero the amount participants paid!

Be the spokes in our wheels that keep our programs rolling strong year round! Monthly donations allow us to keep our operations running consistently and to focus our efforts on facilitating thoughtfully designed programs for participants - pedal by pedal.

ABOUT CFS

The California Field School’s (CFS) mission is to take youth on adventure learning bike tours exploring social and environmental justice. Our approach of combining active travel with educational opportunities for high school students creates life-changing experiences for our participants.

The California Field School is dedicated to telling a story of California that centers indigenous Californians, and a story that reflects the experiences of our program participants, almost all of whom are youth of color, and who come from first-generation immigrant families. On all of our trips, we prioritize building relationships with the people native to the areas we pass through.
