Kelly’s K9s, Tails of Courage, provides fully trained protection dogs to domestic violence survivors, to support their safety and emotional healing. We envision survivors of domestic violence living fearless and powerful, as they rebuild and restore their confidence, control, freedom, and purpose – as they rebuild their lives.

Kelly’s K9s relies solely on your generous donations and support, as trained protection dogs become lifelong members of the survivor’s family at zero cost to the survivor. It costs a minimum of $25,000, however, to breed and train a protection dog. While $25,000 may seem like a significant amount, the safety and empowerment of domestic violence survivors are worth every penny. Their lives, their futures, and their right to live free from fear and harm are priceless.

Your gift can provide a carefully bred puppy, chosen for its balance of nurturing companionship and protective instincts. It also helps cover essential needs such as food, boarding, toys, training equipment, veterinary care, comprehensive training for both the dog and survivor, and continued support including recertification, and a smooth transition into the survivor’s home.

Our goal for the launch of Kelly’s K9’s, Tails of Courage, is to raise $200,000, which will fund the breeding and specialized training of six protection dogs for survivors of domestic violence. This month-long campaign, held in October in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, aims to empower survivors by providing them with life-saving companions.
