Story

National Pig Day is March 1, 2021. Who should kiss a pig -- dairy farmer and board chairman Rick Ebert? Or should it be pig farmer and board vice chairman Chris Hoffman? You can help decide.

The winner gets bragging rights. The other, gets to kiss a pig.  Rick and Chris will be raising funds through 11:59 p.m. on March 1.

Funds raised will support the Pennsylvania Friends of Agriculture Foundation's ag literacy and outreach programs. Cast your vote -- and have fun!

The foundation will host a Facebook live event - date to be decided - to celebrate National Pig Day.

The Pennsylvania Friends of Agriculture Foundation was created in October of 1986 when a group of forward-thinking farmers and business leaders recognized the need to identify agricultural issues before they became  problems.

The foundation seeks to:

  • Enlighten the public about farming and agriculture
  • Create educational programs for children in middle and elementary schools who may have no other exposure to agriculture
  • Train teachers on agricultural concepts while helping them meet their own continuing education requirements
  • Support agriculture and preservation of the farm
  • Promote career opportunities in agriculture
