Dr. Karen Albert Warren is a retired United States Navy veteran and retired GS-14 Federal Civil Service Contracting Officer. She has a distinguished career dedicated to military and public service. She continues to serve her community as the American Legion 7th District Commander, Department of Florida, a 54 year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Order of the Eastern Star, Elks (DOE) and Shriners (DOI) Auxiliaries, Lakeland Rotary Club, National Association of Black Military Women, Fleet Reserve Association, Military Women Across the Nation (MAL), NAACP Lakeland Branch 5108, Polk Flight to Honor, Polk County Veterans Council, and Polk County Sheriff’s Advisory Council.
In 2024 she received the President's Lifetime Achievement Award for 4,000 hours of volunteer service. In 2025, the Rotary Clubs of Lakeland and the Polk County Veterans Council presented her with the Veteran Volunteer of the Year Award. Today, Dr. Warren continues her commitment to service through leadership, mentorship, and involvement in the community.
I am running to help those individuals who never had the chance to learn to read. The ability to read will open doors and would help improve their standard of living, improve their self-esteem, and their overall well-being. If I can help improve the life of one individual, I feel as if I have made a difference.
