Rebuild Hope for the Knapek Family

This one hits close to home.

Our hearts are heavy as we share the story of the Knapek family from Leander, TX—dear friends of our Executive Director—whose lives were turned upside down this week by catastrophic flooding.

In the middle of the night, relentless rain caused the nearby creek to surge past the roofline of their home. Trapped inside for nearly 10 terrifying hours, they were finally rescued—but everything is gone. Their home, their car, and all their belongings were completely destroyed. The lower level of their home was flooded to the ceiling. Walls collapsed. Streets disappeared. And the devastation continues to impact neighbors who are still missing.

More urgently, the family’s father—who lives with Parkinson’s disease—lost all of his critical medical equipment: his CPAP machine, medical bed, walker, and other supplies that help him live day-to-day.

Now, we’re asking our community to come together and help this family begin again.

Every dollar donated will go directly toward:

Replacing Daniel’s vital medical equipment
Cleaning and clearing debris from the home
Supporting temporary shelter and transportation needs
Helping the Knapeks rebuild after total loss
